“The Desire for Supervision” with Véronique Voruz

SPACE FORMATION OF THE ANALYST AND ITS SCHOOL

“The Desire for Supervision”

Véronique Voruz

“There is no definition of what it is to be an analyst, since an analyst, as Lacan conceived it, is non-conforming: in other words, the only knowledge that matters in occupying an analytical position is the knowledge developed out of one’s symptom. This is why supervision, just like analysis, occurs out of desire: the desire to know something of one’s symptom, and to incarnate as best as one can the desire of the analyst.”

Véronique Voruz is a psychoanalyst member of the École de la Cause freudienne (ECF), New Lacanian School (NLS) and of the World Association of Psychoanalysis (WAP), and currently Analyst of the School (AE, 2016-2019). She is Managing Editor of The Lacanian Review: Hurly-Burly and Course Director of the MA in Psychoanalysis at Kingston University, London.
